Weighted Plastic Stuffing Beads or Pellets
Here you will find a wide selection of polyester fiberfill. We offer fiberfill from several different companies. If you do not find what you want give us a call. We know several companies that make polyester fibers or polyester fiberfill, some call it dacron stuffing. We can get you a truck load if that is what you need.
We also have Fairfield's famous poly-pellets. This are the plastic pellets that Wall-Mart used to sell but no longer stock. They are the perferred plastic pellet for stuffing dolls. Poly pellts are very consistant in their shape. These plastic pellets are used mainly as doll stuffing pellets. Polypropylene pellets help create flexibility in stuffing dolls, teddy bears, animals toys. Plastic pellets help give the life like positions for arms, legs and the body or the torso areas of dolls. These doll stuffing plastic poly pellets are made by Fairfield Processing Corp. and have the brand name of poly pellets.
We use UPS for shipping of small amounts. If you order 2 or 3 lbs of polyester fiberfill or poly pellets we will ship via UPS. This site will not calculate the shipping cost until after you have put in your zip code. We have to know where you are to know the cost. On case orders Fairfield products will be shipped via FedEx. All other us UPS expect Buffalo Batt and Mountain Mist and Hobbs which all use DHL
Shipping
UPS is the normal shipping method. Some products are shipped through USPS usually parcel post. You have to enter your SHIP TO information before the site will give you a shipping cost.
Shipping companies charge by weight and by size of the box. They charge oversize rates on most of the items offered on this website. This is because of the size of the boxes. Large boxes are necessary due to the nature of these products. So although an item may only weight 15 lbs. It's shipping weight may be 80 lbs due to the size of the shipping container. So a lot of the times, when you see a weight listed it is the shipping weight not the weight of the product. This website will figure shipping cost on orders that have a shipping weight of less than 150 lbs or less. We will have to figure shipping on for you when this limit is exceeded.

WEIGHTING MATERIALS THAT SHOULD NOT BE USED IN A WEIGHTED BLANKET AND WHY.
A number of weighted blankets made in past years and a few still on the market today are made without little thought as to their safety, effectiveness or comfort. Many are being poorly made with inferior or unsafe materials such as lead, sand, stones or river rock, steel shot, beans, rice, corn, popcorn, aquarium gravel, layers of additional fabric, etc. being used as the weighting material. These materials are unsafe, imperfect and/ or impractical for a variety of reasons, and will in some way either lessen the life of a blanket considerably or make it unusable.
A few blanket manufacturers falsely claim , that stones or corn are a more effective weight than poly pellets. Both stone or river rock and corn are porous and should never be used in a weighted product, these types of weighting material are simply very cheap materials for those manufacturers who use them. Neither stone or corn, have been scientifically proven as a superior or more effective weight than poly pellets when weighting blankets. It is a disservice to consumers in stating otherwise.
* Never use sand or fine stone in a weighted product. *
Sand or fine stone , can never be effectively washed, is an extremely unsafe weighting material, as it contains silica, and should never be used as a weighting material. In addition to the health risk of lung damage , blankets made with sand will eventually leak and the blanket will become gritty.
* Never use gravel, even grade stone, fine grade river rock or stone, or any type of stone or corn in a weighted product*
Blankets made with aquarium gravel, any type of stone or rock, field corn or feed grade corn are porous, unsanitary, often have sharp or pointed edges and are likely to harm the user, and can never be effectively washed. Because these types of weighting materials are always porous, they retain moisture even when the outside appears dry, causing mold, inside the blanket. In addition, those with pointed edges will cut and wear through the fabric in a relatively small period of time, especially with machine washing and drying.
