Heirloom(R) washable wool
Hobbs Bonded Fibers, has combined a unique resin bonding process with magnificent washable wool to make what we believe to be the finest wool batting in the world. Wool breathes better than other fibers and acts like a natural insulator helping to maintain comfort in summer or winter. Wool is exceptionally easy to quilt by hand or machine with quilt spacing up to 4” apart.
Polydown(R) and Polydown-DK(R)
Utilizing siliconized (slick) fibers and the latest resin bonded techniques, Hobbs Bonded Fibers, makes the ultimate polyester quilt batting Thermore is well known. Both battings are resin bonded to resist fiber migration are non-allergenic, washable and can be quilted up to 4-6” apart. Hand quilters will especially appreciate quilting the soft, silky fibers. Polydown or poly down DK(R) is designed for use with darker fabrics.
Cloud Lite(R) and Cloud Loft(R)
Hobbs Bonded Fibers, unique resin bonding technique produces an unusually uniform resin bonded polyester quilt batting that minimizes fiber migration. Cloud Lite(R) is low loft – approximately 3/8” thick with Cloud loft(R) being high loft at about 5/8” thick. Both products are non-allergenic, washable, and can be quilted by hand or machine up to 4-6” apart.
Thermore(R)
Thermore quilt batting, developed by Hobbs Bonded Fibers, his unique and patented product was developed as a thin, drapable, migration free polyester batt. Thermore(R) is now considered the premium polyester batting for apparel, miniatures and other projects requiring a thin, non-bearding batting. Thermore(R) can be quilted up to 6-8” apart and is wonderful to quilt by hand or machine.
Tuscany Collection
The Ultimate Quilt Batting
Whether you are a consumer or you are a shop owner, you should be
interested in the new Tuscany Collection of fine battings made especially for
shops and their discriminating clientele. Tuscany Silk bonded batting is made
from imported silk filaments with the addition of 10% polyester. It is then
carded and resin bonded to help retard bearding (fiber migration) and allowing
the batting to be handled like a blanket. It can be quilted up to 4" apart and
hand washed in tepid water and lay out to dry flat. It will likely shrink
approximately 5%. Because of silk's natural ability to breath, it is an
excellent choice for airy, light weight quilts and coverlets. The Tuscany Silk
batting quilts magnificently by hand or machine and is a superb filling
material for embroidery. Tuscany Wool batting is made with the very best super
wash wool, which eliminates most or all of the shrinkage. It is then carded
and resin bonded to help retard bearding. Tuscany wool batting provides superb
insulation and the fiber breathes allowing excess heat to dispense away from
the body. It can be quilted up to 4" apart and is washable. We recommend
washing in tepid water by hand and laying out flat to dry. It hand quilts like
a dream, and is wonderful for machine quilters as well. Tuscany Polyester made
with the finest siliconized, very small denier polyester, and then resin
bonded to resist bearding. We then use a unique technique that helps seal the
outside and further prevent bearding. It is completely washable and may be
quilted up to 4" apart. It should not shrink. Tuscany Bleached Cotton is made
with fine 100% USA cotton. It's carded, and specially needle punched to
prevent bunching/shifting and is completely washable. It will shrink 3-5% like
all needle punched 100% cotton batting. It can be quilted up to 4" apart.
Bleached cotton should be used with light or white fabrics to eliminate the
shading of darker battings. Tuscany Unbleached Cotton starts with fine 100%
USA cotton is carded and specially needle punched to prevent bunching and
shifting. It is completely washable and will shrink 3-5% like all cotton
batting. It can be quilted up to 4" apart and should be used primarily with
medium or dark colored fabrics.
The only organic cotton batting made!
Hobbs Bonded Fibers has the only organic cotton quilt batting made! Made using 100% organic cotton for both hand and machine quilting. Heirloom quilt batting made with organic cotton can be quilted up to 4” apart. The Heirloom organic cotton quilt batting with scrim is made for machine quilters and craft projects with quilt spacing up to 10” apart. Both battings are extremely clean with normal shrinkage of 3-5% comparable to other cotton battings. Heirloom(R) Organic is grown without chemicals and is the only cotton batting manufactured using 100% organic cotton.
Shipping
UPS is the normal shipping method. Some products are shipped through USPS usually parcel post. You have to enter your SHIP TO information before the site will give you a shipping cost.
Shipping companies charge by weight and by size of the box. They charge oversize rates on most of the items offered on this website. This is because of the size of the boxes. Large boxes are necessary due to the nature of these products. So although an item may only weight 15 lbs. It's shipping weight may be 80 lbs due to the size of the shipping container. So a lot of the times, when you see a weight listed it is the shipping weight not the weight of the product. This website will figure shipping cost on orders that have a shipping weight of less than 150 lbs or less. We will have to figure shipping on for you when this limit is exceeded.
